She Beat Me with a Kettlebell

At five foot four and a hundred and ten pounds, she thought she could whup my azz.

She being my good friend Vanessa who, along with her multi-talented husband Garin, are Las Vegas performers with a show that ranks right up there with the top acts in Vegas.

Vanessa and her husband are fitness fanatics; he’s fifty years old, looks like he’s forty and his arms are as big around as my legs.

She’s gorgeous and b-u-f-f. When she walks it’s like watching a leopard slowly traipsing across a meadow; sleek muscles rippling gently beneath the surface of her skin, every movement smooth like butter.

Men want her and women want to be her. That’s how buffed she is.

Both Vanessa and Garin have some out-of-this-world workout programs that I’ll tell you about later, but before I do, let me tell you how Vanessa tried to kick my azz.

We were all working on a project together last week. I had driven into Las Vegas that morning and we started working as soon as I got there.

We banged through the work and finished up around 5:30 pm or so. Back at their house, I was sitting at the kitchen table and the Energizer Bunny had left the building – and taken my energy with it.

I was already fighting some crapola off that I had picked up traveling; I had been up since oh-dark-thirty, driving for what seemed like forever and then worked all day. I was sukking wind.

Vanessa, God Bless Her, noticed I was whupped and decided it was time for a workout. Like me, she believes that when you’re energy is low, you need to get up and get moving.

She dragged me off my azz and told me to get some workout clothes on and meet her upstairs in the home gym.

Wanting to show her just who was in charge…I went upstairs and changed.

All three of us met in the home gym and she started to teach me how to workout with kettle bells.

If you’re not familiar with them, it’s like a cannonball with a handle. You can work out with them with one hand or two, and there are tons of exercises you can do that attack your body from all different types of angles.

This makes working out with them much more effective then weights as you are doing all different sorts of movements, all working all the muscles of your body together.

We started off holding the bells between the legs and squatting and then progressively moved to harder and harder exercises – to the point where we were all soaked in sweat with our tongues hanging out from all the huffin’ and puffin’.

When we got done, Vanessa and Garin both told me that I did a good job for my first time with kettle bells. Then they told me that they gave me a big kettle bell to start – the same one Garin works with all the time.

What a dirty trick – he’s twice my size.

Privately, I was pleased. It had been a tough workout, but I had an advantage that I never told them.

I was a power lifter in the Marines, so many of the movements from power lifting translated to these kettle bells.

But the real surprise up my sleeve was the strength building exercises and principles that were in the Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts – http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

Kettle bells have been around a long time, but the Chinese stone locks have been around forever – and the principles for training with them are contained in Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts.

The Shaolin Monks have been training world-class warriors for thousands of years – all without a Stairmaster or Bowflex machine. They have been figuring out how to use their bodies in interesting and challenging workouts for centuries – so while kettle bells are a great workout, it’s the principles behind the workouts that count.

And you can learn about those in the Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts, at http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – Vanessa making me workout gave me a ton of energy, which carried me through the next coupe of days. Get your burst of energy on demand with some of the workouts contained in the Shaolin Secrets at http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

Piled Higher and Deeper

For those of you who have earned advanced degrees in a technical field and then gone on to the achieve incredible things and become successful, this e-mail is not aimed at you.

No – this one’s aimed at those PhD’s whom I fondly refer to as the “Piled Higher and Deepers” – since that what PhD stands for.

These are the ones who write in and say that “Your claim needs much more substantive research” and that “some of the movements and teachings in the products are dangerous”.

I even had one guy who – even though he was very complimentary about one part of the Shaolin Secrets - basically tell me that he didn’t get even one morsel of information that he could use.

I’m not going to go after this guy. He did give some compliments and his feedback opened my eyes to a problem.

It’s not his fault. Why?

He lives on another planet called Academia.

It’s a planet that’s inhabited by a bunch of super-smart individuals with access to the finest information on everything under the sun…and typically have never had to use it, prove it, or justify it because some other smart guy said it was true…so it must be.

How could you possibly get a morsel of new information crammed into a cranium that obviously already knows everything?

Jeez, before we can have an opinion, we need case studies, focus groups, opinions polls, European researchers, meetings with the brightest minds, debates…

Then – after we waste a ton of time – we can agree – to disagree! Why?

Because everyone – especially the Intellectuals – has an ego. Once they have “made up their minds” it’s pretty much over.

On top of that, on planet Academia, being wrong is worse than being a Republican.

Let’s look at history of things that have been properly researched OR that “intellectuals” or “experts” said was “the Truth”.

At one time, experts from the U.S. Patent Office said all things that could possibly have been invented were already invented.

Oops. Wrong.

Fat is the enemy; a low-fat diet with high carbs is the way to fight obesity.

Oops. Wrong again. Turns out it’s carbs and sugar that makes you a Food Blister – and the fact that you eat too damn much and sit around on your arse.

Coffee is bad for you. Wait…it’s good for you; No…it’s addicting. Wait…nope, it’s good for you because of anti-oxidants in it and small amounts of caffeine.

Wait – it’s Green Tea that’s better. No - White Tea; watch out, though; don’t put sugar in it or you’re back to the whole carb/fat thing.

Yoga…it’s great for you; it lowers blood pressure, it heals old wounds, it open your meridians…

Wait – what’d you say? On the front cover of Time Magazine it says Yoga is bad for you? You can hurt yourself and over do it? Huh?

Aaahhhh…I’m melting… what’s the truth?

Simple. Stop looking everywhere for “The Answer”. Definetly don’t listen to a friggin’ thing the media has to say.

Don’t rely on your college education, either. No information that you get in college is clean; everyone who writes a textbook or teaches in a university have two things in common: they all have an agenda and most of them have never actually had to do what the hell it is they’re teaching.

I know – I went to college and all the people who were supposedly trying to teach me about business and making money couldn’t sell a weekend at a bordello to a bunch of sailors just off of a six month all-boys cruise.

Go find out for yourself. Try everything. Get every scrap of information on what it is you want and experiment with it. Don’t listen – get experience.

I don’t need a PhD, a case study or anything else to tell me the Shaolin Secrets, http://www.shaolinsecrets.com, Shaolin Stretching Secrets, http://www.shaolinstretchingsecrets.com, or Shaolin Fighting Secrets, http://www.shaolinfightingsecrets.com, works.

I know; I’ve studied and trained with them. I have people from all over who have written to tell me how great the material is and how it’s helped them.

And the Shaolin Temple – where all this material comes from – has been training the finest martial artists in the world for over fifteen hundred years.

You don’t need a PhD to figure out that this stuff is pretty good.

Get over to http://www.shaolinsecrets.com and see for yourself. You won’t need a PhD to make a decision – I promise.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – As Forrest Gump would say, “That’s all I have to say about that.” To the gentleman who wrote to me that I referenced in the e-mail – this wasn’t aimed at you personally; it was aimed at a way of thinking. Thanks again for your feedback – it was appreciated.

Hanging Out with Bodhidarma in the Cave…

The legend says that Bodhidarma - a Buddhist monk that traversed the dangerous Tibetan mountains and arrived at the Shaolin Temple to spread Buddhism to China – once sat in a cave at Song Mountain, staring at the rock wall, and meditated for nine straight years.

Nine years…that’s a long azz time.

He sat and meditated so long that the reflection of his face – get this – burned into the wall of the cave.

I don’t know how he must have felt coming out after nine years of the deepest meditation known to man, but I’ve only been “in a cave” for a week – and I’m both pooped and buzzing with energy.

For the past seven days, I’ve been locked away in a different sort of cave, learning and exploring some of the principles contained in the Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts, http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

I thought I was pretty well versed in the information contained in Volume I; training for seventeen years and studying the first volume for over two years, I figured I was really getting this stuff wired.

Boy…was I wrong.

One principle – just one – that’s mentioned in the beginning of Volume I turns out to be the most important principle of all.

One that’s so important – it’s like the difference between going into battle with a M-60 machine gun – or a butter knife.

One principle that if you don’t understand and begin to develop…you’ll never be able to develop serious internal power or physical strength.

It’s something you do all day, every day. You’ve done it since birth. It’s so natural that babies do it without thought, yet we adults skrew it up constantly.

And it’s so powerful that it Bodhidarma burned his reflection into a solid rock wall using it.

Breathing.

Not just any breathing…deep breathing.

Deep breathing, combined with total relaxation, done consistently and in a certain way, can unlock secret powers contained in all of us.
Deep breathing can act as the ultimate anti-aging supplement and help turn back the clock.

Deep breathing can soothe and energize your internal organs.

Deep breathing can break the stress cycle that you put your body through on a daily basis. It can help release different chemicals in your body that naturally fight the bad chemicals that stress reduces.

Deep breathing can relax your body and your mind – and open a world that you had no idea even existed.

But, as Bodhidarma taught the Shaolin Monks, you have to do it in a certain way.

That information in contained throughout all ten volumes of the Shaolin Secrets, and particularly in Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts, at http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

We don’t have to go live in cave for nine years to start learning and developing this skill. You can do it anywhere, anytime…even at your desk while you read my e-mails.

Bodhidarma isn’t around anymore, but the instructions are. Get over to http://www.shaolinsecrets.com and see for yourself.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – Even though I’ve only been gone for seven days, it feels like forever since I wrote to you. I hope you are well and nowhere near the awful fires that are burning up Southern California. Be well and breathe deeply – but watch out for that smoke.

He Hit Me Over the Head with a Sledgehammer

Regardless of if you are a Jew, Muslim, Catholic, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal, Vanilla Christian, Buddhist and anything else that I may have forgotten – there is undeniable proof that there is a “something” out there.

This “something” is energy; some call it Higher Power. Some call it Mohammad, Buddha, God, Infinite Intelligence, The Big Guy in the Sky…the list is endless.

I call him Coach – or sometimes Drill Instructor – depending on the intensity that he’s kicking my azz.

I do this because like a good coach, he starts out trying to give me baby steps so that I get some wins. Then, as I grow and do better, he gives me more and more.

After that level, he starts to challenge me more and more…and he starts sending me little messages when I start skrewing up.

At first, the corrections are fatherly and supportive. “Hey, you did this; here’s why it was a mistake and here’s what you want to do next time.”

As long as I listen, things are hunky-dory.

But when are start not to listen, Coach goes into Drill Instructor mode.

Maybe you can relate to this. Ever had one little area of your life that you knew you needed to improve or work on – but you ignored it or let it slide with the I’ll-get-to-that-later attitude.

Ever notice that when you let it slide, it slowly starts to show up in other areas…larger and larger each time…until finally…it hits you like a sledgehammer over the head.

Your wife walks out on you – or turns out that she was crazy and you leave her.

That boss that was riding you at work that you had a funny feeling about – goes behind your back and gets you canned.

Your girlfriend – who has a guy who she’s just “friends” with – comes home and confesses that she’s been sleeping with him and “Didn’t know how it happened.”

That one’s my favorite. “Gee, I was just walking down the street and I tripped and fell – and I landed nekked on top of him.”

In every one of those cases, there were little messages being sent to you the whole time. The problem was you weren’t paying attention – or you were ignoring them.

So, like any good Drill Instructor, he kept sending messages – each one a little stronger and louder than the last – until you needed a boot in the azz.

That’s what happened to me while I was in “The Cave” last week.

A world Shuai Chiao Kung Fu champion tells me that the Shaolin Secrets are the most authentic manuals he has ever seen since he’s been in China – and he’s been to the Shaolin Temple – and still trains with people that are so skilled…so scary…that you wouldn’t believe some of the things these masters can do even if I told you.

A muay thai fighter – who trains with men that used to hunt and kill terrorists and other nefarious no-goodniks – tells me he couldn’t believe the passages and teachings in the manuals and that I wasn’t doing them justice in how I describe them in e-mails, advertising and the Internet.

A medical Qi-gong doctor tells me that the breathing exercises alone in Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts, are priceless and if people practiced them they could turn back the clock on aging, improve the health of their internal organs and walk around all day, stress-free with a big, fat smile on their face.

A world-class copywriter - who’s partners with a guy that helped develop a hand-to-hand combat program for the elite Navy SEALS - tells me I am crazy to not be revealing more of the Volumes. His partner tells me that the principles taught in the Shaolin Secrets are the very same that he uses in his life-and-death training programs.

Finally, I’m told that there is a famous martial arts movie star, who knew Bruce Lee and is friends with Chuck Norris, that I should call and ask to lunch and show him the Volumes.

I approach him, introduce myself and ask to meet for lunch…and find out he lives less than an hour away and wants me to come up and spend an afternoon with him.

If this isn’t getting hit over the head with a sledgehammer, than Paris Hilton really is going to be able to make a meaningful contribution to the world as she spreads the gift of being famous for absolutely no reason and having no talent.

The real kicker – these guys haven’t even seen Shaolin Secrets Volume II: Shaolin Fist Law.

See for yourself what all these experts see in the Shaolin Secrets. Go to http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

To check out the DVD courses that everyone else is raving about, go to http://www.shaolinfightingsecrets.com and http://www.shaolinstretchingsecrets.com.

Hurry up – before someone shows up with a sledgehammer.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – I don’t know about you but my azz is getting sore and my head’s developing a callus from getting smacked all the time. Let’s get the lessons faster.

What It Feels Like to Talk to God

Imagine that you’re a preacher and no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t figure out a passage in the Bible.

You’ve got members of your flock calling, approaching you, writing you…all asking for your help in deciphering the passage in question.

You’re sitting there, sermon coming up on Sunday and you’re sweating bullets because you don’t have an answer.

All of a sudden, The Big Man Himself appears, lays a soothing hand on your shoulder and says, “Fear not, my son. Let me share with you what I meant here and how it can help you and your flock.”

You would immediately S2 – Sit Down and Shut Up, right? How many chances do you get to talk to someone so powerful; so life-changing and influential.

To hear it directly from The Man – wow.

That’s what it was like when I met Dan Gable.

For those of you who don’t know, in wrestling, Dan Gable is G-O-D.

Coach Gable was 182-1 in prep and college. 118-1 at Iowa State. Three Time All American and Three Time Big Eight Champion.

He also won three World Titles as well as six straight Midlands Open Championships.

At the 1972 Olympics, he won the Gold Medal and defeated the vaunted Russians team whose only stated goal was to defeat Coach Gable.

He never surrendered a point.

After competing, he went on to coach Iowa to - get this – fifteen National Championships.

There are even more outstanding things he achieved but it would take too long for me to share it all with you.

Let’s just say he is, without a doubt…The Man.

He came and spoke at the gathering I was attending and for almost two hours, he had me frozen in my seat, furiously taking notes and locking me with his intense energy.

I took over four pages of notes but there is one thing he talked about that when he said it, it hit me like a double leg takedown.

It was a principle he taught in wrestling and performed himself, but it was more than that.

It was a principle that I had read in the Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts.

It was stated a little differently, but it was the same. And not only was he talking about wrestling, he was talking about life.

His statement burned into my mind and last night, I decided to take this principle and go to a whole new level.

I was training with some students and decided to work on drills from kicking range all the way into grappling range.

Switch lead leg inside kick to high head kick. Then step-glide jab, cross, hook. Step-glide jab, angular elbow, driving knee. Then wrist control, shoulder, clear and take the back, and finally wrist control, arm break, front leg trip.

Except this time, on every rep, I was thinking about what Coach Gable said and the passage in Volume I.

Guess what. I had never felt so smooth, so relaxed. It was almost like I wasn’t trying at all. I didn’t feel as winded as I normally would have and my speed – my guys I was training with were having a hard time reacting fast enough.

I was blown away – and so where they. When they asked what it was I was doing, I just smiled.

That’s between me and Coach Gable.

I never had a chance to train with Coach Gable – but I will be forever grateful that I had a chance to meet him and have him share with me his principles for success, his story and his philosophy on life.

He doesn’t know it, but his words of wisdom helped to unlock a principle that I had been shown – but didn’t truly learn or understand.

You may never get to meet or hear Coach Gable, but one of the principles he talked about is contained in the Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts – along with many, many more.

See for yourself at http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

And Coach Gable – thank you for sharing your story, your philosophies and your intensity.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – You have no idea what intensity, determination and toughness is until you meet Dan Gable. He is – without a doubt – a living legend. I’m sending him a copy of the Shaolin Secrets Volume I as a gift from http://www.shaolinsecrets.com. It’s the least I can do for all he taught me in the short time we were together.

Wrestling with Waterman

Wrestling with Water

Last week I had the chance to ask a national & world champion a question on a technique in grappling.

What followed was a lesson in what it would be like to fight a comic book enemy - named Waterman.

Waterman isn’t very tall – about 5’7”, maybe 5’8” – but he’s over two hundred pounds and solid as a rock

When he goes to engage you, he gets into a slight crouch, ready to explode in an instant – which kind of freaks you out because now he’s even shorter than 5’7” - and it feels weird.

And the stare…he just stares at you blankly, like you’re a piece of meat about to be sacrificed on the barbeque alter.

Like an idiot, you make a move towards him to close the distance and bam! – you’re on your back with one leg going one way, your other leg going the other way and something being twisted so hard it feels like it might just pop off.

Back to your feet; now you close and grab him – except that instead of feeling resistance or strength – it’s soft. Not limp, but just “there”. No tension. No indication of anything.

Mistaking it for weakness, you explode forward – right in to a void left by Waterman -who somehow felt you were coming and instinctively left a hole where you were going and who is now allowing you to get tossed on our azz while he’s twisting yet another appendage from your body.

This continues for who-knows-how-long before your exhausted…and sore…and smiling from ear-to-ear because of the lesson and principles you just learned.

Waterman isn’t imaginary. I’ve trained with him and other Masters just like him.

They all have mastered and practice the concept that Waterman is made of – the water principle.

This principle allows you to fight for what seems like hours – without using a ton of energy.

It allows you to use your opponent’s size and energy against them, always turning their attacks to your advantage.

And this principle is simple to learn. The legendary Dan Gable knows it and taught it; many martial arts masters know it but sometimes don’t share it because it’s so powerful.

You can learn it in the Shaolin Secrets Volume I & II, http://www.shaolinsecrets.com.

In Shaolin Secrets Volume I: Shaolin Feats of Martial Arts, the principle is spelled out in detail and then referenced throughout the text.

In Shaolin Secrets Volume II: Shaolin Fist Law, the very first chapter mentions it and then the entire rest of the Volume – which is dedicated to two-man combat drills – shows the principle being used in every exercise.

Learn how to be like Waterman – but use your forces for good; not evil like the Sandman.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – If you get to train with someone who is like Waterman, be very grateful and thankful, even if you get your azz handed to you. Some of your best lessons come from your best beatings.

Gang Banging to Life Saving

Over the past two days I’ve been telling you about some men that used to hunt other men for a living.

How they worked for the government (not naming which ones) and quietly went about dispatching no-goodniks and making sure they left no traces in doing so.

These men – once they had done their service – went their own ways to live their lives out quietly.

Some of them decided that while they wanted to live their lives quietly, they also wanted to give back; to use the knowledge they had about inflicting harm to help others learn to protect themselves.

They taught this information to a handful of people – one of them is Jeremiah Moses Perez.

He grew up in East San Jose, California. For those of you who aren’t sure, there is a nasty part of San Jose and East SJ is it.

He was an undersized Latino in an area of Chicano and Samoan gangbangers and being the little guy, he frequently got his azz kicked.

Soon he found himself fighting back and learning how to protect himself. He had no other choice.

He finally gave up banging when he was taken in by a martial artist and teacher – who happened to be trained in some l-e-t-h-a-l combat arts. Jeremiah was then able to defend himself against anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Jeremiah became his prized pupil and together, with the blessings of some very private people, the tools Jeremiah used to defend himself against much larger opponents and multiple attackers was released to the public.

You can go to http://shaolinsecrets.com/3xharder.html right now and read more about Jeremiah, his teacher…and some very dangerous men.

Go to http://shaolinsecrets.com/3xharder.html today.

Best,

William Huff

P.S. – Some of you have written in asking if I have met with Jeremiah and trained with him to see if he’s for real. Yes, and yes on both counts. His information is the real deal.
Go to http://shaolinsecrets.com/3xharder.html and see for yourself.
