This past three days has been exciting - to say the least.
My wife's best friend is moving back to the States from Korea and on their way back to the East Coast they stayed with us for the weekend.
The two of them were best friends and roommates in college so they are very close. When she told me they were coming to stay, I was all for it.
Then she reminded me that they had a nine-month-old baby boy.
Oh.
I love kids; especially babies - so I thought it would be no big deal.
Well...this is the first second I have had to write, work, return a call or focus on anything - and that's with no less that four adults around at all times.
This baby is a wiggle worm, he's jet-lagged and he's surrounded by a bunch of adults that are first timers when it comes to babies so we are all acting like a bunch of freaks.
No wonder the Shaolin Monks isolate themselves and train at the Shaolin Temple.
It's very tough to "get your head in the game" with the way everything is now. The Internet, 24 hour news and sports; you can go almost anywhere in the world and still not be out of touch or unreachable.
And when you have family, it's really 24/7.
That's why in the Shaolin Secrets, available at http://www.shaolinsecrets.com, the Shaolin Temple teaches several ways to focus the mind, block out distractions and direct your energy on what it is you are trying to accomplish.
The Shaolin Monks knew that to get the most out of themselves and their training, they had to learn to "flip the switch" and be able to focus instantly on what it is they were trying to accomplish.
It's also why they went to the Temple and trained behind walls; they isolated themselves so they could focus on the tasks at hand.
Well...you and I probably aren't going to get building permits for walls to surround our houses so we can keep everyone away and get some work done, so get over to http://www.shaolinsecrets.com and get the Secrets of the Shaolin Temple.
That way you can start to learn how to "flip the focus switch", put up a "wall" in your mind - and get some work done.
Oops - gotta go. Junior has pinned one of the cats and is drooling all over him. I better go rescue him before someone gets hurt.
Best,
William Huff
P.S. - There will be a special announcement this week about the Secrets of the Shaolin Temple. Stay tuned - you won't want to miss it.
P.P.S. - In the meantime, get over to http://www.shaolinsecrets.com and get your own copy of Secrets of the Shaolin Temple Volume I & II. Before your wife's best friend comes over with the baby.
